Is everyone a people pleaser?

Its a funny world. What makes it funny are the people. We do everything to get our work done from sweet persuasive talk to eulogizing. Even people who claim that buttering is not an option on their list end up being people pleasers! How? Read on..

The art of pleasing is somewhat inherent. It can be our DNA or may be we inherit it when we are still in the womb. As kids how do we act as people pleasers? We request..no no demand for a toy and we get it. Once denied, the act begins. Still unaware of the harsh realities of the world, a child doesn't know how to purposely please his elders for what he wants. So he cries and sulks. This works for the child and he knows this is how it is likely to work the next time. This is his way of pleasing!

The child grows up and gets into school. The art of pleasing takes on a new form. Teachers are pleased to hear compliments from their students.."Mam you are looking so sweet in that Saree.", "Sir u are looking so handsome today.".. quite often it leads to lesser homework assignments and obviously shorter classes!

Remember that geek guy/girl in college? Yes the one who was not so hot and happening because he was too much involved with books. He was always ready to please and was the most easy to be pleased. A simple "you are my best friend" was enough to get your assignments done. Getting a proxy attendance was easier.

Then comes the job interview. Pleasing is a must. "Sir this is my dream company." Doesn't even matter if a dreamland ever existed!

Congrats! You are hired!

Continue pleasing to avoid getting fired!!

Even people who claim that buttering is not an option on their list end up being people pleaser! How?

Why wouldn't you please anyone? Simply because you think you don't need to because you are able and self-sufficient. So is it not that by doing what you believe in, you are actually pleasing yourself?

Pleasing ourselves is what we all end up doing anyway!
